Saravan Subramaniam has worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry for over 11 years in roles focusing on Engineering and Technical Services. Previous to this, he was a Project Manager in the Automotive Sector. Saravan obtained his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Waterloo. He recently completed his Executive MBA at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. He has led Engineering projects including the design of a $30M High Containment Facility for the manufacturing of Soft Gel Capsules. He has also led new product launches in both the Manufacturing and Commercial environments. Saravan is an authentic leader who believes in establishing effective teams by modelling a collaborative and hands on approach, while providing opportunities for shared leadership. He values and exemplifies effective communication skills, the ability to set team goals

Learning Outcome for the Participants:
This seminar will provide an overview of the product and process flow in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. The presentation will focus on the production process from dispensing, tablet compression, table coating, fluid bed to encapsulation and the packaging process involved in tablet filling line and liquid filling line. The seminar will also review the role of Quality Control and Quality Assurance processes as well the role of key documents used in the manufacturing process.
The participants can expect to walk away with an overall understanding of the manufacturing processes for a pharmaceutical drug. This would be a good seminar to attend for new professionals entering the pharmaceutical industry or for seasoned professionals working in other sectors of the Pharmaceutical / Medical Device Industry wanting to learn about the manufacturing processes.
