Please join us for our annual 2018 DART Conference: Working Together to Prevent Family Violence!
This will be a day of engaging presentations revolving around the importance of working together to foster a lifespan multi-sector approach to preventing family violence.
Keynote by Dr. Susan Jack: "A Public Health Approach to Understanding and Responding to Family Violence". Susan Jack, RN PhD, is an Associate Professor, School of Nursing, McMaster University. Dr. Jack's program of research focuses on developing and evaluating community approaches to the prevention of family violence, including child maltreatment and intimate partner violence.
We will also have presentations by TK Pritchard (Public Education Manager from the Sexual Assault Support Center (SASC) of Waterloo Region) on 'Engaging Men in Violence Prevention' and 'Creating LGBTQ+ Inclusive Interventions'.
Ingrid, a domestic violence survivor will share her powerful story in her segment called 'Surviving Unthinkable Abuse'. Through sharing her powerful story of pain and victimization Ingrid is able to assist others in the education of how best to support victims and their families.
