Progress & Challenges: A Statewide Perspective on Transportation
Sabra Newby, Reno City Manager
Reno City Manager, Sabra Newby, brings unique perspective to the progress and challenges facing transportation in the state of Nevada. Sabra has seen first hand Reno's booming economy and the impacts it is having on transportation infrastructure. Prior to joining the team at the City of Reno, Sabra served as the Assistant County Manager of Clark County. Her experience dealing with transportation in both southern and northern Nevada provides a unique perspective on transportation issues statewide.
A native Nevadan, Sabra has more than 15 years of experience in state and local government with the City of Reno, Clark County, the City of Las Vegas, and as a state and local government consultant at KPMG, LLP. She has a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in economics from Wellesley College and a Masters of Public Policy degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Sabra is an active member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and is currently President of the Local Government Managers of Nevada (LOGMAN). She achieved the status of ICMA Credentialed Manager in August 2016.
