For students who play a concert band or orchestral string instrument. Ages 12-18.Students are challenged in vigorous daily rehearsals, musicianship classes, master classes and recreational activities. They rehearse and perform in one of four large ensembles (a full symphony orchestra, a string orchestra, and two concert bands). More advanced players can elect to audition for the jazz ensemble, various chamber groups, or perform as a soloist on the Honors Recital. The Friday concert is open to the public and held in Furman's McAlister Auditorium. Held on the beautiful self-contained Furman University campus, students live, rehearse, perform, play and eat all within a safe and easy walking distance.
