Journeys and Converse are helping YOU get ready for prom by creating the ultimate pre-prom experience featuring DJ Zuri Marley and YouTube stars LaurDIY, Hailie Barber, Michael Le and Analisse Rodriguez. The event will take place in New York City at the YouTube Space on March 22, 2019 from 4-7pm ET and will feature three unique rooms designed to get high school teens prom-ready!
The experience will include a FREE pair of Converse sneakers from Journeys for all attendees, who will have the opportunity to personalize on-site at the Converse By You station, with hands-on guidance from LaurDIY. Attendees will also get to learn the latest dance moves from Michael Le and Analisse Rodriguez in the dance room, and will receive mini-makeovers plus beauty and grooming tips from Hailie Barber and a local glam squad. Lauren Riihimaki | @LaurDIYLauren Riihimaki is a Do-It-Yourself specialist on YouTube who posts fashion advice videos to her popular channel LaurDIY, which boasts over 8.9 million subscribers. Lauren is from Toronto, Canada and currently lives in Los Angeles, CA. She began posting to YouTube in the Spring of 2012, and has since grown her reach and following to become "one of the most well-regarded fashion and beauty channels". Lauren focuses many of her DIY tutorial videos on topics like accessories, fashion and beauty. She has won a Shorty Award and a Streamy Award for her unique DIY and lifestyle content on YouTube.
Hailie Barber | @hailiebarberHailie Barber is a beauty vlogger, as well as licensed esthetician, who publishes a mix of tutorials, reviews, unboxings, hauls, and more for her following of nearly half a million followers across YouTube and Instagram. Her passion is makeup and skincare, giving her followers insight into her everyday routines and new favorite products. She has an eye for all things glittery, bright and colorful!
Michael Le | @justmaiko
Michael Le is a dancer and choreographer who has garnered over 21 million views on his YouTube channel which features a mix of dance, comedy and lifestyle videos – with approximately a quarter million followers and subscribers on both Instagram and YouTube to date. The ambitious 18-year old has been featured in countless hip hop and Latin music videos, including work with Malu Trevejo, Daddy Yankee, Fabolous, Wisin and Ricky Martin.
Analisse Rodriguez | @analisseworld
Analisse Rodriguez is an 18-year old professional dancer and choreographer, who was born in Miami and raised in West Palm Beach, FL. Originally a self-taught dancer, Analisse started formal training just five years ago at Sean’s Dance Factory and at the Bak Middle School of the Arts. She is also a teacher and choreographer at various studios in Miami including Sean’s Dance Factory and Millennium Dance Complex Miami. Analisse has also been featured in the music videos of Jason Derulo, Ricky Martin and Wisin, performed on television shows such as La Banda, and has garnered over 5.5 million views on her dance videos via her YouTube channel.
Zuri Marley | @zuri
Zuri Marley is a musician, DJ, actress and beauty aficionado born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. Currently bicoastal between New York and LA, Zuri’s DJ style is universal ranging from her specialty reggae/dancehall to the myriad of genres she curates specifically for her clients. Marley has been featured as a vocalist on tracks alongside the likes of Blood Orange and Nosaj Thing. She’s been gaining a lot of buzz as a star in the making and has been featured by publications such as GQ, Vogue, V, and i-d. Most recently, Zuri filmed a Vogue Beauty Secrets video and was featured alongside Dev Hynes in GQ’s February 2019 Issue.
Are tickets free?Yes, tickets are free but you must RSVP through journeys.com/promchucks to attend.*Admission is limited and will close on March 19 at 11:59pm ET – or once the event hits RSVP capacity – so RSVP now!
Is there an age restriction?Yes, you must be a high school student between the ages of 14 to 19-years-old to attend the event. *14 to 17-year-olds must have parent approval prior to securing a ticket and 18 to 19-year-olds must show a valid government issued photo ID and/or student ID.
How can I attend the event?Students can RSVP for themselves and select their desired time frame to attend at journeys.com/promchucks.
How will I get my ticket?You will reserve your ticket through a ticketing platform called Eventbrite. Once you fill out the required information, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite confirming your single ticket.
Can I attend if I’m over the age of 19?No.
Do I need to bring a printed hard copy of my ticket?Not required. There will be a list with confirmed names at check-in for those who have RSVP'd through Eventbrite, so the name on your RSVP confirmation must match the name on your ID.
Can I transfer my ticket if I’m unable to attend?No. If you cannot attend, please notify us at email@example.com so we can cancel your ticket and issue them to another student.
How many tickets can I get?There is a limit of one (1) ticket per person.
I didn’t get tickets to the event.Unfortunately you need tickets secured through journeys.com/promchucks and must meet the age requirement in order to attend this event.
What if I need an ADA assistance?If you are in a wheelchair, require the use of a walker, or have knee, leg, feet, heart, breathing, or any other conditions that will not allow for over exertion and you receive a ticket confirmation and need details on ADA accessibility, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Where is the event?Location address and parking details will be emailed upon confirmation of RSVP.
What time is the event?The event starts at 4:00pm ET and concludes at 7:00pmET, but you’re encouraged to arrive 10 minutes prior to the time slot you reserved. Attendees will choose time slots in advance of attending and are expected to spend approximately one hour in the event space experience.
What do I need to wear?Outfit is totally up to you – but we encourage you to dress comfortably and be prepared to dance. No tux or fancy prom dresses required!
What do I need to get into the event?*Present a valid government issued photo ID and/or student ID, if applicable. *A confirmed RSVP through journeys.com/promchucks*Submit BOTH signed waivers to email@example.com by March 19 at 11:59pm ET. (2 waivers will be sent via email to all who RSVP.)
What if my school does not provide student IDs/I do not have a government issued ID?If you do not have a student ID and are not yet of age to have a government issued ID, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Is there food available?Yes, there will be limited snacks, soda and water provided.
Can I use my phone/camera to take pictures/video during the event?Yes – please do! Be sure to include #offtoprom in your posts too!
Can parents stay at the venue during the duration of the prom-themed event?Parents of 14-17 year-olds will be able to stay in the lobby of the YouTube Space while teens attend the event.
Are there things we cannot bring?The following is a list of items that are not allowed in the venue:
• Alcohol or drugs • Outside food or drinks • Pets, radios, video games, laser pointers, or musical instruments • Weapons or fireworks • Cigarettes, cigars or chewing tobacco. This venue is a tobacco free environment. • E-Cigs, vape pens, etc.
License; Ejection and Cancellation; No Redemption ValueEvent Providers reserve the right, without refund of any amount paid, to refuse admission to, or eject, any person whose conduct management deems disorderly, who uses vulgar or abusive language or who fails to comply with Event Provider rules. A ticket is not redeemable for cash.
Recording, Transmission and ExhibitionYou agree that the event for which you purchase tickets is a public event, that your appearance and actions inside and outside the venue where the event occurs are public in nature, and that you have no expectation of privacy regarding your actions or conduct at the event. You grant permission to us and the Event Provider(s) to utilize your name, image, likeness, acts, poses, plays, appearance, movements, and statements in any live or recorded audio, video, or photographic display or other transmission, exhibition, publication or reproduction made of, or at, the event (regardless of whether before, during or after play or performance) for any purpose, in any manner, in any medium or context now known or hereafter developed, without further authorization from, or compensation to, you or anyone acting on your behalf.
You Are Subject to SearchYou and your belongings may be searched on entry to the event. You consent to such searches and waive any related claims that may arise. If you elect not to consent to such searches, you may be denied entry to the event. Under certain facility rules, certain items may not be brought into the premises, including without limitation, alcohol, drugs, controlled substances, cameras, recording devices, laser pointers, strobe lights, irritants (e.g., artificial noisemakers), bundles and containers.
