What if I was initiated after December 31, 2019?
You do not have to attend. However, you must still submit an excuse form. If you would like to attend you can purchase your ticket off another sister.
I am an active alumnae, do I need to attend?
No. However, if you would like to attend, please feel free to join in on the fun.
I can't attend. How do I get excused?
See excerpt taken from page 40 of the National Bylaws "Active Members not able to attend must be excused by their respective Chapter, and must send the Chapter Meeting Minutes containing the excusal to the National Sergeant at Arms, as soon as possible (National Sergeant at Arms shall also notify the National Retreat Committee of excusal). Acceptable reasons to be excused from the National Retreat are prior family engagements, school priorities, and emergencies."
Do I still need to pay?
See excerpt taken from page 40 of the National Bylaws "Excused Members with outstanding payment balances with the National Retreat Committee must still pay off the balance. A Member may choose to find an alternate Member who was not previously registered for the retreat to take her place, but the original Member shall still bear the responsibility of paying the balance."
I still don't understand? Do I still need to pay if I got excused?
EDIT: August 29, 2019 5:47PM - See excerpt taken from page 40 of the National Bylaws "All Active Members and National Officers of this association are required to attend the National Retreat. Active Alumnae are not required to attend."
You will need to pay for your ticket even if you got excused. The excusal will ONLY prevent you from being fined for missing a National Event.
**If you cannot make National Retreat, we recommend you contact an inactive sister (once you've been excused) who is interested in attending and sell your ticket to them.**
My request to be excused was rejected? What do I do now?
Register by October 15th, 2019. All actives must attend. If we do not have your excusal by October 15th, 2019, you will be automatically held liable for payment. You will be given the opportunity to select a payment plan in this scenario. Failure to select a payment plan will result in the National Retreat Committee selecting one for you and/or all applicable penalties and fines.
What if I have to sell my ticket?
Last day to sell tickets to another sister will be January 30, 2020. We will no longer accept substitutions after that date. Sisters will not be able to switch out their shirt sizes after that date.
I tried to register and realized that I have additional accommodations. What do I do?
Please send an email to email@example.com and cc our chapter president at firstname.lastname@example.org. Inclusivity of everyone is what we're striving for this weekend. Our intent is to make everyone feel as welcome as possible. We can and will make the necessary accommodations to ensure your participation and needs are fulfilled during the weekend.
