The 2017 FC Shakhter Karagandy season is the 26th successive season that the club will play in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Kazakhstan. Shakhter Karagandy will also be participating in the Kazakhstan Cup.

Season events

Shakhter Karagandy's away game against Aktobe on 22 April was postponed as Aktobes pitch at their stadium was not ready after an extended period of winter weather.[1]

On 29 May, Aleksei Yeryomenko was fired as the club's manager,[2] with Saulius Shirmyalisa being appointed as the club's manager on 2 June.[3]

Notes:
  1. ^ Kairat qualified for the Europa League first qualifying round by winning the 2017 Kazakhstan Cup. Ordabasy would have qualified too, but they failed to obtain a licence, so Tobol took their place.
  2. ^ Atyrau started the season with -9 points as a punishment for unpaid debts to former manager Zoran Filipovi?.[12] On 24 April 2017, Atyrau had six points returned to after they cleared their debt to Filipovi?, with three points retained due to debts to Jonathas.[13]
