Cerbah made several appearances for the Algeria national football team, including three appearances at the 1982 FIFA World Cup finals, which included a famous victory over West Germany.[4] He also played in several African Cup of Nations finals, including the 1980 finals where Algeria finished runners-up, losing to Nigeria in the final 3-0.[5]
