The 2012 BNP Paribas Masters - Singles was the main event of the 2012 BNP Paribas Masters men's tennis tournament played in Paris, France from 29 October through 4 November 2012. Roger Federer was the defending champion, but withdrew from the tournament.[1] David Ferrer won his first Masters 1000 title by defeating qualifier Jerzy Janowicz in the final 6-4, 6-3, becoming the first Spaniard ever to win the title in Bercy.

Since Federer chose to withdraw from the tournament due to fatigue, Novak Djokovic returned to world number one at the conclusion of the tournament despite losing at the second round.
